There is no question about it, smoke detectors save lives. According to the National Fire Protection Agency, more than 60% of all home fire deaths result in homes with no smoke detectors or non-working smoke detectors. Smoke alarms give those living in the home the opportunity to exit the home in a fire/smoke situation. There should be a smoke alarm in each bedroom, outside each sleeping area, on each floor and in the basement. There are two different kinds of smoke alarms.
An ionization smoke alarm is generally more responsive to flaming fires, and a photoelectric smoke alarm is generally more responsive to smoldering fires. Most people have the ionization smoke alarm installed in their homes. For the best protection, both types of alarms or a combination alarm (photoelectric and ionization) should be installed in homes. Connecting all smoke alarms in the home so that when one sounds, they all sound is the best prevention.
CTS Electric can install the interconnecting smoke detectors in your home. Call us and set up an appointment.
